DET SOE Changes- (Tuesday 17th May 2005)
Read about the changes which have been made to the DET Standard Operating Environment (SOE) - and suggested changes which have been rejected - for software included with the next batch of rollout computers.
Mac OS X 10.4.1 Update- (Monday 16th May 2005)
A range of updates including file sharing using AFP and SMB/CIFS network file services, using DHCP in wireless networks, and user logins when accessing LDAP and Active Directory servers.
Kid Pix 3X- (Monday 16th May 2005)
At last - a version of Kid Pix that recognises Mac OSX users' Home folders, dispenses with the KP login screen, and the KP splash screen and associated music! You can purchase online, then download the 1.0.2 updater.

A simple, very easy-to-use painting program, ideal for use in lower Primary classes. Mac and Win - and it's free!
NetRestore 3.0 & 2.0.1- (Wednesday 11th May 2005)
The latest NetRestore updates for Tiger and Panther are now available from the Bombich site.
Science of Music- (Monday 9th May 2005)
Wonderful interactive music site for kids (and grown-ups!) - you can compose, mix, dance, drum and experiment. Also check out the The Brain Explorer for puzzles, riddles and illusions, as well as the whole Exploratorium site for some other great science/art/perception sites for education.

WordNetX (Mac)- (Monday 2nd May 2005)
Developed at Princeton University's Cognitive Science Laboratory, WordNetX is an online lexical reference system - a dictionary, thesaurus, etc - free!
