Get Off My Back!- (Monday 21st February 2005)
An online collaborative Maths project for Years 5-9. The project will explore the affects that heavy backpacks have on the growth and development of student posture and identify safe backpack weights. This project will join students from around the globe in a common investigation about backpack safety while studying about statistics, graphing, percentage and ratio. Register before April 30th.
Nvu - Latest release- (Friday 18th February 2005)
Nvu is open-source web page editing software, and web site management software based on Mozilla Composer. Latest version is 0.81 (10th Feb). Mac/Win/Lin. Free
iPhoto Library Manager- (Wednesday 16th February 2005)
This utility provides access to multiple photo libraries, and allows multiple users to share a common photo library - such as on a school photo server. Thanks to Dennis Ross (remember him?) for spotting this one!

PhotoShop Elements 2.0 Fix (Mac)- (Tuesday 15th February 2005)
If you see a message that says "Could not complete your request because the file is locked." - use Get Info to set permissions to unlock the file.
Mac OS X 10.3.8 Update- (Thursday 10th February 2005)
A range of "enhancements" (!) to a variety services on Apple OS X desktops and servers. Be sure to unplug any FireWire drives before running this update!
MarksforMac- (Wednesday 9th February 2005)
Looks interesting - "like iTunes for your Mark Book"! Australian-made Marks automatically calculates class statistics, rankings, weighted and moderated marks etc. (OSX 10.2.8 or later).

WordNetX (Mac)- (Monday 7th February 2005)
Developed at Princeton University's Cognitive Science Laboratory, WordNetX is an online lexical reference system - a dictionary, thesauras, etc - free!
DET T4L Rollout Specs Now Available (Intranet access reqd)- (Wednesday 2nd February 2005)
Now includes details of the specifications of each of the rollout vendors' computers for each of the "point" offerings. Desktops, servers and laptops.
OnyX 1.4.9 - System Maintenance (Mac)- (Wednesday 2nd February 2005)
OSX system housekeeping is carried out automatically (daily, weekly and monthly) in the early hours of the morning. If your computer is off, or asleep, this houskeeping is not done. OnyX will run these tasks manually, as well as providing a GUI interface to some other useful stuff.
