2005 Year 6 CSA Shelved (No link yet!)

At last some common sense has prevailed! The DET has announced that the 2005 Computer Skills Assessment test for Year 6 students will not happen. The future of the CSA is under a cloud after the announcement that the CSA would become a measurement tool that schools would be able to use voluntarily. No announcement has been made about the future of the Year 10 CSA - this is developed by the NSW Board of Studies.
NetRestore Problems with Mac OSX 10.3.9

If you are using a FireWire HD to make disk images (or to restore stand-alone Macs), don't update the Boot partition to 10.3.9 until a NetRestore update is available.

Keychain Minder (Mac)

If a network user's password is changed, without using their own Accounts pane, you will find that their Keychain password is not updated, and applications like Safari keep asking for their old password. Solve this by creating a new Keychain with Keychain Minder.
Mac OS X Software Updates

A whole raft of updates, including OSX 10.3.9 ("improved reliability of user logins, mounting of home directories in a networked environment"), iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, and OS X Server ("improved AFP Service reliability and stability when multiple users connect .... and reliability during heavy load"). Use Apple's Software Update service for a quick and easy update of everything!
Broadband Survey Results

The Whirlpool website surveyed over 13,000 broadband users about their ISP's performance. Telstra has criticised the results of the survey in which most of their respondents rated its BigPond service as 'awful' or 'poor'.
