DET Restructure - Goodbye Districts, Hello Regions (Sound Familiar?) (Wednesday 18th June 2003) This Sydney Morning Herald report provides an overview of, and some early reactions to, the recently announced NSW DET restructure, which involves an amalgamation of TAFE and schools, "removing duplication of services". (Intranet access required) No More IE for Mac (Monday 16th June 2003) On Friday Microsoft officially dropped development of Internet Explorer for Macintosh. The company will release an update for the OS X version of the browser that will have security and performance enhancements, but no new features. AppleWorks 6.2.7 Update (Mac) (Friday 13th June 2003) This AppleWorks 6.2.7 updater is for the International UK version (which should work with our Aussie stuff), and speeds up a number of AW processes, along with a few bug fixes. Updates OS9 versions to 6.2.5. (16 Mb download) Apple Updates Galore (Thursday 5th June 2003) iMovie 3.0.3 was released yesterday and addresses a myriad of issues (including a PAL/NTSC option), plus you'll need to have Quicktime 6.3 and iTunes 4.0.1. Over 100 Mb to download - those new 2Mb broadband links are great! Firmware updates for Mac OS X (Thursday 5th June 2003) Be sure to update the firmware on all your Macintosh computers BEFORE you update to OSX. ITEC Meeting Term 2 (pdf - 100k) (Monday 2nd June 2003) The Term 2 meeting of the Illawarra Technology Educator's Co-operative (ITEC) will focus on the Denbigh range of Student Reporting and Management databases. This meeting will be held at Corrimal PS on Tuesday 17th June, 4pm - 5pm. DET Curriculim Support - e-learning (Monday 2nd June 2003) This site has been developed to support teachers in the educational use of information and communications technologies (ICT). The latest addition to the site includes a scope and sequence document for ICT skills.
