DET ISP Project

The DET Internet Service Provider (ISP) project is a NSW government initiative to provide staff and students at NSW schools and TAFE colleges with individual email addresses and Internet access.


Word 2001 Issues on Macs

There are some fixes for printing and saving problems in Word 2001 for Mac.


School Technology Roadshow

Hewlett-Packard
and Apple Computer have joined forces to provide a series of seminars focusing on the latest desktop computer equipment, laptops, networking equipment, and peripherals for use in schools. The Wollongong leg of this roadshow will be held on Tuesday 26th February at Port Kembla Golf Club.


Print to PDF (Mac), PDF995 (Windows)

Use these utilities to easily create PDF documents, without the need for the full Acrobat software. (Not required for OSX, which has pdf creation "built -in"). Print to PDF is shareware, PDF995 is freeware.


A Maths Dictionary for Kids

Created by Jenny Eather at Bilambil PS - really neat use of Flash to bring Maths terminlogy to life.


OSX A4 Paper Defaults (MacOS X) (.gz - 140k)

Removes the default US Letter settings in OSX and makes all default documents A4. (After installing, you may need to manually setup MS Word X, then Save the default settings in Format - Document).


PixelNhance & GraphicConverter (Mac)
(Friday 8th February 2002)
Two great image editing utilities for the Mac. Both available for OSX. GraphicConverter (shareware) is also available for OS9. PixelNhance is only available for OSX, and integrates neatly with iPhoto.


DET WebMail Upgrade

The DET WebMail system was upgraded during the holidays, providing some improvements to the system, most notably the ability to create personal distribution lists.


Norton AntiVirus Update Issues for DET Schools
(Friday 1st February 2002)
