iWeb (Mac)
Part of the Apple iLife suite. Very simple to use, and includes many features previously available only in image editors and desktop layout applications. (You will need a .Mac account to use some of the features.)

Sandvox (Mac)
Another theme-driven package, similar to iWeb. Includes some unique themes and built-in ftp. Fully WYSIWYG. (See also SVDesignMiner to edit SV templates.)

RapidWeaver (Mac)
Similar to the above two, providing some "under-the-hood" access for those with html experience. Editing is not full WYSIWYG (switch to preview mode reqd). Includes full ftp.

Goldfish (Mac/Win)
Similar concept to Sandvox/RapidWeaver, but not quite as intuitive.

ShutterBug (Mac)
Template-driven site-builder originally designed for photographers to display their work.

 
For experienced publishers...
Adobe Dreamweaver (Mac/Win)
This is the "leading" industry package. Used by pretty much all web production houses.

Adobe Go-Live (Mac/Win)
Probably a limited life expectancy now that Adobe owns DreamWeaver.

Expression Web (Win)
Microsoft's replacement for FrontPage.

Microsoft FrontPage (Win)
Now a superseded product.

A web page eeditor based on the Mozilla Nvu project.

SeaMonkey (Mac/Win/Lin)
Seems to be a replacement for Mozilla , now that Mozilla development is focussing on Firefox and Thunderbird.

Nvu (Mac/Win/Lin)
A dedicated development of the Mozilla publishing environment. Free.

Mozilla Composer (Mac/Win/Lin)
Simple to use, and it is free!

Trellian WebPage (Win)
Comprehensive WYSIWYG editor.


Embed a Widget  
Google Calendar
Embed a Web 2.0 calendar in your web site. The calendar can be edited by another staff member using a web browser, without the need to edit your main web site. The new entries are reflected automatically in the embedded calender.

Picasa Slide Show

Weird Characters in iWeb Sites
Some older web servers (like the NSW DET web server) display characters like Â, ’ or other strange Latin letters where spaces and punctuation marks should be, in sites created using iWeb. This site describes how to fix this problem.

Word Cloud Analysis
A word cloud is a visual depiction of frequently used words in your web site. It illustrates keyword density using font size. The more often a word appears on your site, the larger it appears within the word cloud.
