iPhone & iPad Screen Capture
As the iPhone and iPod Touch become more pervasive in schools, and educators explore options
to integrate this technology within their learning environments, there comes a need to
capture "screen grabs" for inclusion in tutorials and presentations.

The info below explains how to take a screen shot from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
(v3 & v2 software)

iphone screen
1
On your iPhone, or iPod Touch or iPad, navigate to the screen that you want to capture. You can capture any browser or app window.

Hold Buttons
2
Hold down the Home button (the main button below the screen), and simultaneously press and release the sleep/on-off button at the top of the iPhone or iPod Touch. (The sleep button may be on the left side on some models.)

Your screen will flash white for a second (along with a camera shutter sound on iPhones) then return to the original screen.

iphone camera roll
3
The captured screen image will be saved to the iPhone Camera Roll album or the iPod / iPad Saved Photos album.

Return to the main screen, and click on the Photos icon to navigate to this album and see the screen shots that have been saved.

sync cable
4
Sync your iPhone/iPod/iPad with your computer. (This process assumes that you have configured iTunes to sync your photos with an iPhoto album.)

iphoto import

5
The saved screen shots will now be accessible from within iPhoto. From there can then be added to any document, presentation, or web site.

6 Other applications can be used to edit and annotate the saved images as required.
