Moodle

Moodle is referred to as a Course Management System (CMS), or Learning Management Systems (LMS), or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Moodle provides an "online learning and assessment" environment.

Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer, yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a university with 200,000 students.

This page provides links to technical information about installing Moodle in a Mac OS X environment. Information about installing Moodle on other OSs is widely available on the Internet.

Information about configuring and using Moodle in a school environment is available at Wazza's Moodle Resources.
