Emerging Technologies Conference (UOW)

Presented at Wollongong University (18th - 20th June) this conference will offer information and inspiration for using technology as powerful tools for learning, and demonstrate the many forms of innovative technology that are available for teachers to build community. Keynote speakers - Tom March & Ron Oliver. Cost $50 per day or $100 for 3 days.

Phoenix Has Landed

Enable Access to Local Web Sharing (Mac)

Here's one that is a little obtuse - unless you have the need for it! There is a bug in Apple's implementation of Apache 2 that disables access to local users' web sites in Personal Web Sharing. This facility is very handy for demos where you don't have Internet access. If you get the "forbidden....you don't have access" message when trying to access computername/~username, this site explains how to apply the quick fix.

HSC Students to Study Wikipedia (SMH)

Mac Thief Caught on Webcam (SMH)

Police have arrested two men and recovered $US5500 worth of stolen computers and electronic devices after the owner of one of the purloined laptops was able to connect remotely to her Apple MacBook and photograph the thief.
