Anyone with teenagers at home already knows this - outside of school, SMS and instant messaging are the writing tools of choice for young people. A report from South Korea claims that many teenagers have stopped using e-mail altogether. "It's for old people," they say.

With Australian schools now contemplating "computer for every student" programs, these research reports from the University of Maine, relating to the 1:1 laptop program implemented in Maine schools might be interesting reading. "....the evidence indicated that using their laptops in this fashion helped them to become better writers in general, not just better writers using laptops."

Boot Camp Beta Ending Soon

Boot Camp beta will expire at the end of the year. In order to install new Boot Camp partitions (to run Windows on your Mac) you will need to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5. However, existing Boot Camp Tiger partitions that already have Windows installed will continue to work normally.
